Steamboat Willie + Dark Souls + Mario = Cuphead | Gameplay, Review & Premature Evaluations
Cuphead is an incredibly challenging platformer styled after cartoons of the 1930s and masochistic challenge games like Super Meat Boy or Dark Souls. $20 on Xbox One and PC via the Windows Store (crossplay included), Cuphead obviously stands out for its incredibly unique art style and animations. Cuphead plays as a love letter to Steamboat Willie, the first Mickey Mouse cartoon released in 1928. The Big band music, character dialog, bouncy bow legged character animations and film grain do an incredible job making you feel like you are playing a cartoon from the first half of the 1900s.
- 19 boss levels and 6 run and gun stages
